Lizzie decided a trip to the ER last Wednesday night was necessary for our family. We hadn't been in over a year. She is okay. The doctors seem to think it was a virus we caught very early. High fever, labored breathing and a rolling tummy were her symptoms. Most of the time we encourage Katelyn and Sarah to relax at the hospital. "Don't fight the nurses. They are only trying to help you." We encouraged Lizzie! She fought fiercely... well, as fiercely as she can. She kicked a wicked lab tech, rolled away from a nurse and cried the entire time the doctor spoke. Bless her heart, she had two lab draws, two shots of Rosefin, some nasty Bactrim and three x-rays. And Stacy was a stinker. He made me do all the bad stuff and then rushed in for the save. Needless to say, Lizzie did not appreciate me until sometime Friday afternoon:)

We went to Ada to Stacy's 20th High School Reunion. It was a lot of fun. But I did not get to hear any stories on Stacy that I didn't already know. It was a nice visit with his family too. Papa Jimmy has the biggest garden in the whole world! And Nana Janice makes the best caramel popcorn in the whole world!

Mother's Day is this weekend. On Mother's Day 2008, the best thing happened. We took Lizzie to church for the first time ever, monitors and all. God is so good. I don't usually spend a lot of time talking about satan, but he seeks to discourage me all the time when it comes to Lizzie. However, while reading the story of the paralytic whose friends brought him to Jesus, I realized something. Jesus healed the man when he was probably somewhere in his thirties. He was a grown man! Now I've always known this story, but it occurred to me - was the man any less happy? Were his friends any less amazed by God? Were the spectators not in awe of God's compassion and healing? Whatever time God chooses to heal Lizzie will be His time, not mine. He will choose to do His will in her life. We will still do our very best to provide her with the care she needs. But my faith in Him has been strengthened, and that is awesome!
